EAT Your Way to Healthy Skin

Our skin can say so much about us and so many of us ladies strive for clear, healthy, radiant skin. It can be a battle to try and find the right cream that works for each of our skin types, and even then we could be putting some pretty harsh chemicals onto our skin that can actually do more damage then repair.

That is why it is usually best to stick to natural products, or even better, eat your way to healthier skin!

Yes, I said EAT your way to healthy skin. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?

There are so many foods and ingredients out there that contain all the nutrients and essential elements our skin needs to look its very best.

Remember, Always Take Your Vitamins

Vitamins and minerals are crucial for healthy, glowing skin. Luckily, instead of taking supplements or buying expensive creams that may dry out your skin, you can snack on different fruits that will deliver a mineral-fueled punch to your skin.

To keep your skin nourished with these different vitamins and minerals you should keep your fridge stocked with fruits such as: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and even plums.

Not only will you be nurturing your skin with all the vitamins it needs but you will also be protecting it with some of the most powerful antioxidants you can put on a plate!

While vitamins and minerals help to give your skin a radiant, healthy glow as well as clear up your complexion; antioxidants help to protect your skin cells from damage-causing free radicals.

This is important because free radicals, like the kind formed by sun exposure, damage the membrane of the skin cells, potentially causing damage to the DNA of your skin cells. Antioxidants help to protect your cells, keeping them healthy and causing your skin to look its very best.

Don’t Trim The Fat

Well, the healthy fats that is. One thing you want to make sure you eat enough of are essential fatty acids like those found in avocados, salmon, walnuts, and flax seeds to name a few.

You see, these essential fats, such as omegas 3 and 6, are what keeps your cell membranes healthy. You want to make sure your cell membranes are healthy as they act as a barrier to keep harmful elements away from your cells, as well as letting all the healthy nutrients into the cell and keeping all the waste out of your cells.

Not only that, but it is the cell membranes that keep water in the cells and the stronger that barrier is, the more hydrated your cells, and therefore you skin, will stay ultimately giving you plumper and younger looking skin. Something us ladies can never get enough of.

So don’t be shy, fill your plate with healthy, natural ingredients and eat your way to glowing, radiant, and younger looking skin. Never has good skin been this tasty!
